Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Group in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a summer internship for a Civil Engineering student at junior, senior, or graduate level. The internship is about 40 hours per week for up to 90 days, with varied responsibilities across structural, civil, and waterfront infrastructure projects.

Interns will assist with design calculations, plan production, cost estimating, and may participate in project site visits, following safety requirements at the office and on site.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Willingness to work on a variety of projects.
• Detail oriented and desire for continued learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project team members and clients.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist a structural engineer with various tasks associated with the project design, including calculations, plan production and review, and cost estimating.
• Assist with project site visits. The applicant may be required to navigate through a jobsite and must comply with all Company and Site safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite.
