Job summary

Mount Hermon Association in Mount Hermon, CA 95041 is seeking a PL Forum Assistant Lead for our summer staff. The role supports forum programming including worship sets, skits, and speakers, while modeling Christian discipleship and nurturing campers’ spiritual growth as part of MHA’s mission and values.

The position requires ministerial orientation, involvement in prayer and Bible-centered teaching, and teamwork with the PL Forum Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Some college experience preferred.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified.
• Current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
• Prior experience and leadership in youth programming with a strong background in ministry leadership.
• Leadership experience with junior high, high school, and college-aged students.
• Prior experience in camping ministry, having served in various roles.

Responsibilities

• In coordination with the PL Forum Coordinator, plan and execute quality forum programs for both junior high and high school campers.
• Meet daily with the PL Forum Team and supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by the PL Forum Coordinator.

The PL Forum Assistant Lead will work with the PL Forum Coordinator for forum programming, which involves assisting worship sets, skits, and speakers. This position is also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, nurturing spiritual growth of campers through the program activities and curriculum, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The Ponderosa Lodge (“PL”) Forum Assistant Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings which include prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• In coordination with the PL Forum Coordinator, plan and execute quality forum programs for both junior high and high school campers. These forum programs consist of worship sets, skits, and speakers. Ensure that all programs are holistic and accomplishing set objectives.
• Meet daily with the PL Forum Team and supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by the PL Forum Coordinator.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Summer staff members in his/her area.

Qualifications: Education/Certifications/Licenses:

• Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
• Ability to demonstrate a personal, committed and thought-through faith in Christ.
• Attention to detail and follow-through, creative, flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program.
• Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and hiking.

• Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
