Job summary

Mount Hermon Association Incorporated seeks a PL Forum Assistant Lead to help plan and run forum programs for junior high and high school campers. You will work with the PL Forum Coordinator to organize worship sets, skits, and speakers, modeling a Christ-centered life and nurturing campers’ spiritual growth.

You will lead a team of summer staff, participate in daily briefings, and take on special duties as assigned, contributing to a Christ-centered camp community and impactful outdoor ministry.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Experience leading youth programs and camps is desirable.
• Ability to clearly articulate the gospel and act as a Christ-centered leader.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute quality PL forum programs for junior high and high school campers (worship sets, skits, speakers).
• Meet daily with PL Forum Team and supervisor.
• Assist with program activities and supervision as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by PL Forum Coordinator.

Position Objective:The PL Forum Assistant Lead will work with the PL Forum Coordinator for forum programming, which involves assisting worship sets, skits, and speakers. This position is also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, nurturing spiritual growth of campers through the program activities and curriculum, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.General Qualifications:The Ponderosa Lodge (“PL”) Forum Assistant Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings which include prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.Key Job Accountabilities:In coordination with the PL Forum Coordinator, plan and execute quality forum programs for both junior high and high school campers. These forum programs consist of worship sets, skits, and speakers. Ensure that all programs are holistic and accomplishing set objectives.Meet daily with the PL Forum Team and supervisor.Other duties as assigned by the PL Forum Coordinator.Supervisory Responsibilities:Summer staff members in his/her area.Education/Certifications/Licenses:Some college experience preferredMust be CPR/First Aid certifiedCurrent valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.Work Experience:Prior experience and leadership in youth programming with a strong background in ministry leadership.Leadership experience with junior high, high school, and college-aged students.Prior experience in camping ministry, having served in various roles.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.Ability to demonstrate a personal, committed and thought-through faith in Christ.Attention to detail and follow-through, creative, flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program.Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.Physical Demands:The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
