Job summary

Medline Industries, LP is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in the Chicago area. The role offers hands-on work across warehouse management systems and ecommerce platforms, with exposure to front-end and back-end development in an agile team.

As an intern you’ll own projects, participate in code reviews, and gain real-world experience through a structured 10-week summer program beginning early June and running through mid-August across Medline’s four Chicagoland offices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts.
• Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js.
• Familiarity with databases and SQL.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new features for business and e-commerce applications.
• Design, code, test, deploy, and support software solutions.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and execute unit tests and support automated testing efforts.
• Collaborate with team members to improve existing applications and software development processes.
• Write technical documentation to support software maintenance and usability.
• Analyze business requirements and contribute to solution design discussions.
• Work closely with fellow interns and Medline team members in a collaborative, professional environment.
