Job summary

Medline offers a Software Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 in Northbrook, IL. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and support warehouse management and e-commerce applications.

The 10-week program runs from early June through mid-August, open to rising seniors, with hands-on projects, social events, and professional development in a collaborative, agile environment.

Qualifications

• Rising senior or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts.
• Exposure to front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js.
• Familiarity with databases and SQL.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Knowledge of frameworks/tools like Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and adapt to new technologies.
• Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization.

Job Description

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced software engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications that drive Medline's Warehouse Management Systems and E-Commerce platforms. This role provides exposure to both front-end and back-end development, allowing interns to contribute across the software development lifecycle while collaborating in an agile, team-oriented environment.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$23.25 - $33.75 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
