Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Silicon Photonics Process Integration Intern for Summer 2027 in Malta, NY. You will support the 300mm semiconductor technology development integration team, contributing to silicon photonics input/output processes and structures.

You will learn module ownership, assist with data analysis, and help prepare technical summaries for cross-functional stakeholders while gaining mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, Photonics, Optics, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with device, process module, packaging, test, and integration teams to develop silicon photonics input/output solutions.
• Learn integration module ownership while supporting development and qualification of silicon photonics input/output processes and structures.
• Assist with analysis of process, device, and yield data to identify trends, document results, and support technical problem solving.
• Support project execution through experiment tracking, status communication, and preparation of technical summaries for cross-functional stakeholders.
