Job summary

Amrize RMX invites an Engineering Intern for a 10-week Summer 2027 program based at Costilla RMX, CO. The role focuses on practical project support, concrete mix knowledge, QC testing, and field exposure to construction sites and ready‑mix processes.

The intern will gain hands‑on experience across mix design, safety, data insights, and site visits, culminating in an executive presentation of learnings and contributions to Amrize leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Industry Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
• A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
• Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands‑on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Learning: Dive into the operational procedures, production/maintenance activities, and product knowledge at our sites.
• Mix Design Optimization: Learn about and assist in the optimization of concrete mix designs to meet project specifications for strength, durability, and workability.
• Quality Control and Testing: Assist in the testing and inspection of concrete samples, such as slump tests, compression tests, and air content measurements, to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Project Site Visits: Work alongside site supervisors to monitor concrete pouring operations, ensuring adherence to mix specifications, placement techniques, and curing practices.
• Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives: Assist in the development of strategies to reduce waste and improve energy efficiency in the production process.
• Data-Driven Insights: Collect and analyze data, identify process correlations, and contribute to the development of strategies for ongoing projects.
• Safety Protocols: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Skill Application: Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
• Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
