Job summary

Allied Mineral Products invites a student to join its Summer 2027 co-op/internship in the Research and Technology group at its Columbus, Ohio site. The intern will collaborate with R&T engineers or the Analytical Services Supervisor on a research or analytical project and assist Ceramic Technicians with sample preparation and testing to support laboratory operations.

Responsibilities include executing projects under supervision, preparing samples for XRF, XRD, SEM analyses, and helping maintain

Qualifications

• Must be a sophomore with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
• Must be enrolled in a BA/BS program in materials science, geology, mineralogy or related field.
• Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week for 10 weeks.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned projects under supervision of an R&T Engineer or Analytical Services Supervisor.
• Assist Ceramic Technicians with batching, casting, firing, and testing of lab samples.
• Prepare samples for XRF, XRD, or SEM analysis and perform these analyses as directed.
• Support engineers and technicians to ensure smooth lab workflow.
