Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking Summer Research Program interns for the Homeland Sensors and Analytics Group (Group 45). Interns will work on AI, ML, and data science projects with impact on national security, alongside experts in CV, NLP, analytics, and software architecture.

Internships run 10–12 weeks, May through August, with housing support in Boston-area universities and complimentary shuttle from housing to the Lab.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in engineering, CS, math, statistics, information science, or related technical field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Comfort with managing time to meet deadlines.
• Openness to learning new skills.
• Familiarity with Python or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to AI-enabled surveillance video processing and automated threat recognition research.
• Collaborate with researchers on machine learning, data science, and analytics projects.
• Assist in applying AI/ML techniques to real-world homeland security problems.
