The City of Oakland Park invites applications for an entry-level Recreation Assistant to support delivery of aquatic, youth, arts, and leisure programs. You will assist staff, supervise activities, greet participants, and help ensure safe, enjoyable experiences in a diverse community.
Responsibilities include helping with events, checking facilities, communicating with the public, and occasionally driving city vehicles.
Provides entry-level assistance in the delivery and conduct of recreational programs and leisure services activities for the City. Assignment areas include, but are not necessarily limited to, aquatics programs, youth and summer camp programs, arts and crafts, and leisure services. Essential job duties, as outlined herein, are performed according to the area of assignment.

Must be 18 years of age.
Pass a fingerprinting/local/FDLE background screening process prior to employment,
High School Diploma/GED
Valid State of Florida Class “E” Driver’s License
Pediatric/Child CPR & First Aid Certification
One-year experience in a childcare program or two-years’ experience as a counselor in training
40 hours of Child Care Training with transcripts
