Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking an R&D intern in the Connected Experience and Agentic System Research lab (CEASR) in Warren, MI. The role focuses on researching, designing, and developing breakthroughs in autonomous and connected vehicle technologies, with emphasis on displays, optics, and simulation.

You will plan and execute collaborative research projects, document results, and collaborate with teams across GM.

Qualifications

Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science or related field.
Must be a current student (undergraduate/graduate).
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months.
Must be a current PhD student or second year masters student in engineering or science.
Research experience in simulation of ray tracing.
Strong theoretical, experimental and software programming skills.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication; leadership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Conduct research/experiments to collect data and validate ideas in the CEASR lab.
Document and present results; may lead to publications or IP.
Execute technical assignments related to displays and optics.
Develop and execute research plans from concept to validation.
Collaborate with peers, management, and external teams.
