Job summary

Armstrong World Industries is seeking a motivated R&D Engineering Intern for a Summer Internship at our Corporate Campus in Lancaster, PA. Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering students will gain hands-on experience across product development, materials, and manufacturing processes.

You will work on real projects from planning to recommendations, support project management, design experiments, run lab-scale to plant-scale trials, and present findings to AWI leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited program.
• No more than 24 months from graduation.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (cumulative and within major).

Responsibilities

• Complete one or more assigned engineering projects from planning through final recommendation.
• Contribute to ongoing R&D projects supporting new product development, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Support the Project Management Life Cycle: preparing specifications, coordinating schedules, and executing projects.
• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, present findings to R&D leadership and business partners.
• Plan and run lab-scale, pilot-scale, and plant trials.
