Job summary

Luck Stone Corporation invites students to join the Summer Internship program, a 9-week, hands-on experience in quarry operations. You’ll engage in blasting, heavy equipment operation, maintenance, plant operations, quality control, and sales and dispatch while developing core industry skills.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program related to mining or earth sciences and are eager to grow within the mining field.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates will be enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program related to mining or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks and projects with a high level of quality and attention to detail
• Participate in hands-on training and practice in pit and plant activities
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair
• Follow quality control procedures and participate in lab testing as required
• Assist with sales and dispatch activities, including weighing and ticketing haul trucks
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Attend daily safety briefings and actively participate in hazard identification and reporting
• Actively seek out feedback and coaching from supervisors and team members
• Complete end-of-summer presentation summarizing experiences and learning outcomes.
