American Family Insurance invites students to join our Summer 2027 Intern program in Program Management & Business Operations, based in Madison, WI. The internship runs for 10–14 weeks from mid-May to August, with hybrid work and potential housing bonus based on proximity to the office.

You will support portfolio visibility, governance, dashboards, and knowledge resources while gaining exposure to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and presentation skills.
Initiative, curiosity, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities while collaborating.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and collaboration tools; familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power BI, SharePoint or similar is a plus.
Coursework, project experience, or interest in program or project management, business operations, data analysis, technology, or strategy.

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of our business and culture to support your work.
Contribute ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.
Support portfolio and initiative tracking with scope, milestones, risks, and outcomes.
Gather and analyze program data and create dashboards and leadership presentations.
Document current-state processes and identify opportunities to simplify or improve workflows.
Create templates, playbooks, governance materials, and knowledge repositories.
Prepare meetings and follow up with decisions and action items.
Research and test Microsoft 365 Copilot, automation, and productivity tools.
