Job summary

The Financial Times is seeking passionate interns to pitch and produce audio stories for the FT News Briefing. You will contribute to research, scripting, and editing under mentorship, with a focus on business and finance coverage.

This paid ten-week summer internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, in-office at least three days per week, with a dedicated Buddy for support. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US and the role emphasizes collaboration and growth.

Qualifications

• Audio or podcast experience preferred (Internship or other courses).
• Good writing and editing skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Interest in finance and business news.
• Experience with Descript or similar editing software.

Responsibilities

• Researching and pitching audio story ideas which draw from FT coverage.
• Gathering tape and archive audio to bring stories to life.
• Coordinating and recording interviews with FT journalists and guests.
• Producing and editing elements of the FT News Briefing with guidance from the team.
