Job summary

The Comptroller of the Treasury offers a 10-week Performance Audit Intern program for Summer 2027 (June 1 – August 6) in Nashville, TN. Interns observe and participate in audit operations, including testing controls and reviewing records, under guidance of audit teams.

Selected students from undergrad or graduate programs gain hands-on audit experience, with professional development activities and a final presentation of learnings. Travel may be limited to local audits.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have completed at least 6 credit hours of accounting coursework.
• Preference for intermediate/advanced accounting classes.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, organizational, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in audit activities and assist in evaluating management's controls.
• Assist interns in interviews and reviewing records and reports to assess efficiency and compliance.
