Job summary

The Office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is offering a 10-week Performance Audit Intern program for Summer 2027 (June 1 – August 6) in Nashville. Interns will observe and participate in audits, gain hands-on experience, and engage in professional development activities such as etiquette day and networking.

We seek rising juniors, seniors, or graduate accounting students who have completed at least 6 accounting credits and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Successful interns exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, organizational and writing skills.
• Applicants should have completed at least 6 accounting credits.
• Rising juniors/seniors or grad accounting students encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Participate in audits of state entities receiving public funds.
• Conduct management interviews and review records and reports.
• Assist in evaluating internal controls and operating effectiveness.
• Prepare findings and contribute to final audit work products.
