Job summary

Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury invites students to join the Information Systems Audit Internship for Summer 2027 in Nashville. The 10-week, paid program runs June 1 to August 6 and offers hands-on audit work, IS training, and professional development activities.

Interns will learn to assess internal controls, data integrity, and compliance while building networks with full-time staff and attending academy-style sessions. Some travel within Tennessee may be possible.

Qualifications

• Rising juniors, seniors, or graduate accounting/IS students
• Completion of at least 6 hours of accounting, CIS, CS, information security, data analytics or business coursework
• Adaptable, able to think critically, and a team-player
• Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, organizational, and writing skills
• Apply classroom knowledge to meaningful audit work and learning opportunities

Responsibilities

• Learn to examine the adequacy of internal controls, records, and reports
• Review information systems and data integrity
• Assess compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of an entity’s operations
