Job summary

Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking Summer Patent Engineers for a ten-week position in the Intellectual Property Department across multiple offices, including Chicago. Candidates graduating in December 2027 or May/June 2028 with a degree in EE, CE, CS or related field are invited to apply. The salary is $70,200/year, pro-rated based on the duration of employment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Graduating December 2027 or May/June 2028.
• Strong academic background with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willing to work with patent agents, attorneys and inventors on patent protection.

Responsibilities

• Assist patent agents and attorneys in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Collaborate with inventors from innovative companies.
• Work across Foley's offices in multiple locations.
