Job summary

Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy seeks enthusiastic candidates for Residential Assistants in the Summer at HPA Academies. The role involves supervising boarding students, organizing dorm activities, and mentoring students, with evening and weekend shifts and on-campus housing.

Typical hours run 2:30 PM to 8:00 AM with one day off per week; program runs June 23–July 25, 2027. Prior experience with students and residential settings is preferred; Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Be at least 20 years of age.
• Some post-secondary education.
• Some familiarity with Hawaii or Hawaii Island.
• Prior experience working with students.
• Experience living and/or working in a residential educational environment.
• Be willing and able to acquire Lifeguard, First Aid/CPR certification before the start of the program.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming students and families as they begin the program.
• Set up dorm rooms and halls; inventory rooms for dorm damage.
• Plan activity schedule; lead team-building and supervise evening/weekend activities.
• Provide emotional support and mentorship to advisees.
• Write end-of-session reports on social progress.
• Supervise and interact with students during activities and outings.
