Job summary

UPMC’s Student Nurse Internship (SNI) program offers a 10-week paid opportunity during Summer 2027, where you work closely with a preceptor to gain hands-on nursing experience. You will participate in educational sessions, shadow additional nursing areas, and build confidence for a future nursing career.

Interns will be placed at one hospital for the summer with the possibility of system-wide graduate nursing opportunities after completion.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Demonstrates professionalism and willingness to learn.
• Able to work under supervision with a preceptor.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with a preceptor to observe a day in the life of a nurse.
• Attend supplementary educational sessions to build knowledge.
• Shadow additional nursing areas as placement allows.
• Work up to 40 hours/week following preceptor schedule.
