Job summary

UPMC Mercy Health Center is offering a Summer 2027 Student Nurse Internship (SNI) for UPMC School of Nursing students with an anticipated August 2027 graduation. This 10-week paid program lets you work side-by-side with a preceptor, gain hands-on experience, and participate in continuing education sessions.

You will work at one hospital during the summer, with up to 40 hours per week scheduling to fit your preceptor.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UPMC School of Nursing student.
• Anticipated graduation date August 2027.
• Resume and Nursing Transcripts must be uploaded with the application.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with a trained preceptor to observe a day in the life of a nurse.
• Participate in educational sessions to continue learning.
• Build confidence as a future nurse.
• Shadow additional nursing areas at the placement hospital.
• Work up to 40 hours per week according to the preceptor’s schedule.
