Job summary

Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, WI offers a paid Nurse Internship Program from May 24 to August 1, 2027. As a Nurse Intern, you’ll work with experienced nurses in a chosen clinical area, gaining hands-on patient care experience.

Applicants must be on track to graduate from an associate or bachelor’s nursing program by December 2027 or May 2028, hold or pursue CNA/EMT/LPN credentials, have BLS, and be available to work 60 hours per two weeks across shifts; exceptional interns may be

Qualifications

Be on track to graduate from an associate or baccalaureate nursing program by Dec 2027 or May 2028.
Hold at least one active certification/license: CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P or LPN.
Have a current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (hands-on training).
Be available to work 60 hours per two-week pay period across all shifts (days, PMs, nights).
Students must be able to complete the full duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

Support patient care under the supervision of experienced nurses.
Engage in hands-on clinical learning across assigned units.
Develop clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking through internship activities.
