Job summary

Murray Company seeks a student intern for its Operations group to gain practical hands-on project management experience across pre-construction, fabrication and field installation. You will work with project managers and top teams on mechanical projects including plumbing, HVAC, and process piping.

The internship offers the opportunity to learn and contribute in a dynamic contracting environment, with travel within Northern California and a 10-12 week program starting May 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university and actively pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Availability to commit to 40 hours per week for 10 weeks (40 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects.
• Support reviewing designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Help manage project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, reports).
• Participate in site visits to monitor progress and verify compliance.
• Assist with cost estimates and budgets; support quality control efforts.
• Facilitate communication among project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Assist with safety protocol implementation and compliance.
