Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown, Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a temporary Mechanical Intern to join this summer. You will work with engineers to design HVAC/Plumbing systems, develop mechanical drawings, and perform design calculations. You will gain exposure to diverse project types and learn core MEP practices.

Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required, with strong communication and teamwork skills; familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and plumbing design for domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, roof drainage, gas, and compressed-air utilities.
• Create mechanical drawings and perform design calculations.
• Conduct code research and prepare cost estimates, specifications and analyses.
• Assist on-site with reviews of ongoing projects and documentation of installed conditions.
• Balance workload across multiple projects and project types (Commercial, Industrial, Faith Based, K-12, Retail, Warehouse).
