Job summary

Uni-Systems Engineering in Plymouth, MN, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges. You will join active project teams, attend meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions, gaining hands-on experience with calculations, CAD modeling, drawings, material selection, and prototype assembly.

You will work full-time over the summer, paired with an experienced mentor, gaining exposure to the full engineering process from design through fabrication

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; junior/senior year for bachelor’s.
• ITAR U.S. person required due to export-controlled data access.
• Strong problem-solving and engineering fundamentals application.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and verify engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Research materials and request quotes from vendors.
• Assist with mechanical equipment assembly and prototype activities.
• Participate in project meetings and design reviews with engineers.
• Collaborate across mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines.
