Allegion invites students to join our Summer Intern – Mechanical Engineer program in Golden, CO. You will contribute to design, development, and analysis of components and assemblies, gaining hands-on experience with 3D modeling, design reviews, and manufacturing support.

You’ll learn about electronic locking systems and access control solutions while collaborating with engineers to deliver safer, reliable products.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative, e.g., school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects.
Basic electronics understanding.
Ability to work in both a team and individual setting.
Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly.
Effective listening, time management, and creative problem‑solving techniques.
A desire to learn, grow, and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion's business and customers.

Responsibilities

Experience developing 3D models.
Familiarity with engineering tools including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis & DFM/DFA.
Experience in Mechanical testing techniques.
Utilize tools such as Creo, MS Project, tolerance stack templates, and others as needed in product development.
Collaborate with a team to produce well‑rounded solutions.
Participate in daily and other regular team meetings, including project teams and Mechanical competency.
