Job summary

ITW is offering a summer engineering internship in Charlotte, NC for rising juniors in an undergraduate mechanical engineering program. The internship runs from mid‑May through early August 2027 and reports to the Manufacturing Engineer on‑site.

You will contribute to new product and process implementations, assist with manufacturing improvements, create CAD models and drawings, and support safety initiatives while learning ITW’s business model and cross‑functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Engineering Program. Mechanical Engineering coursework is a plus.
• Rising junior status (completion of sophomore year prior to internship start).
• 2D & 3D CAD skills preferred, good communication skills, inquisitive nature and hands-on interest.

Responsibilities

• Support new product & process implementation projects.
• Assist with manufacturing process improvement, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
• Support ITW Safety Program initiatives and promote a safe working environment.
• Create and modify CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support engineering projects and manufacturing initiatives.
