Come join our team as a Maintenance Assistant with Rochester Homestead! We offer generous benefits and a positive work environment.

Rochester Homestead is part of Volunteers of America National Services, serving as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the parent organization.

Pay: $18.62 up to $22.26

Schedule: Full-time temporary summer position, M-F and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventative maintenance, painting, and repairs inside and outside the facility to ensure safety and attractiveness.
2. Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets.
3. Strip, wax, and polish floors according to schedule.
4. Wash walls, ceilings, and lighting fixtures.
5. Transport and dispose of trash properly.
6. Maintain cleanliness of waste receptacles.
7. Report supply or equipment needs to supervisor.
8. Store supplies securely and label toxic substances properly.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to read and follow instructions, recognize chemicals, and understand safety procedures.
3. Willingness to perform routine tasks with interruptions.
4. At least two years of building maintenance experience preferred.
5. Knowledge of building, plumbing, and electrical codes.
6. Ability to read technical manuals and handle tools and equipment.
7. Decision-making skills in emergencies.
8. Proficiency with computers for documentation and communication.
9. Flexible hours availability, including emergencies or on-call situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare industry.
