ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
2. Advises swimmers of improper activities or dangers and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
3. Responds to emergency situations and administers first-aid when necessary.
4. Ability to work independently.
5. Maintain focus at a high level for extended periods of time.
6. Evaluates conditions for safety and activates emergency action plan if necessary.
7. Complete daily opening/closing procedure checklists.
8. Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
9. Assists with pool chemical tests and record results accordingly.
10. Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and management.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

1. Must be at least 15 years of age and be able to obtain a work permit if under the age of 18.
2. Be able to work a minimum of 1 day a week and have weekend and holiday availability.
3. Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
4. Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to interact with the public.
5. Reliable transportation.
6. Be able to obtain and maintain StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification.
7. Swimming proficiency and feels comfortable in the water.

Preferred

1. Have prior lifeguard experience.
2. StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification.
3. Be able to work a minimum of 2 days a week and have 1 day of weekend availability.

COMPENSATION

$17-$20/hr
