Chadwick School is seeking a Summer Lifeguard for its Summer Program. This role involves supervising pool activities to ensure student safety, interacting with campers, and completing necessary training. Candidates must be 16 years old, hold a valid lifeguard certification, and have a passion for working with children.

This position is for a Summer Lifeguard our Chadwick Summer Programs and for special events. The rate for our summer program is $18.00 and for summer events it is $25.00 - $27.00

Job Title: Summer Lifeguard
Location: Palos Verdes
Type of position - Non-Exempt/Hourly
Rate - $18.00 - $27.00
Salary Band: Seasonal/Temporary
Position summary
Responsible for instructing and interacting with students participating in the Chadwick Summer Program or at Pool events, ensuring that environment is safe and secure.
Major responsibilities
For the Summer Program Applicants should be able to:
Work Saturday, June 21, 2025, through Friday, July 25, 2025- Program not in session Friday, July 4, 2025.
Attend a staff “onboarding” session the week beginning Monday, June 16th (on-boarding sessions are 2 hours in length + CPR certification session - if not yet certified - and paid)
Attend a mandatory staff training day on Saturday, June 21st from 9:00am – 3:00pm
Education, experience and skill requirements
Qualifications:
Current Lifeguard Certification
High school diploma or some college is preferred but not required.
Ability to work early morning or late afternoon a plus.
Individuals with previous applicable experience is preferred.
Computer proficiency required.
The ability to work with children is essential.
The ability to legally work in US is required.
Chadwick policy requires all employees to be 16 years of age before their hire date (Monday, June 16, 2025)
Screenings: TB assessment and Livescan Background check or work permit
