Teacher Retirement System of Texas is seeking a Legal and Compliance Intern for Summer 2026 in Austin. The internship is paid, full-time, and requires coursework in law or paralegal studies, with transcripts due.

The intern will assist with open records responses, research, and general compliance work under supervision. Compensation ranges from $19.50 to $28.00 per hour depending on education level, with the program running June 4 to August 7, 2026.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a JD, or undergraduate within 12 months of graduation, or paralegal program.
• Official college transcripts required.

Responsabilités

• Assist with responses to open records requests and review of legal orders and litigation.
• Research and analyze issues related to benefit programs, contracts and procurement matters; draft documents and memoranda.
• Assist with implementation of legislation and compliance with laws affecting benefits and investments.
• Assist with ethics compliance tracking and related correspondence.
• Support records management and litigation tracking efforts.
