Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and motivated Summer Law Clerks to join Pond Lehocky Giordano for our 2027 Summer Law Clerk Program.

This opportunity is available at any of our firm’s offices, allowing candidates to be considered for the location that best aligns with their interests and availability.

As a Summer Law Clerk, you will gain practical, hands‑on experience and exposure to various aspects of legal practice within our firm. This position is designed for law students who are eager to learn, develop their legal skills, and contribute to meaningful client work under the guidance of experienced attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support ongoing cases and projects.
• Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including first‑draft briefs, mediation statements, demand strategies, and motions for review by supervising attorneys.
• Prepare summaries of evidentiary records to be used for briefs.
• Assist with cases and depositions by reviewing materials such as medical records and documentary evidence.
• Communicate with clients regarding their cases.
• Answer phone calls from potential clients and identify possible referral cases.
• Prepare correspondence for clients, opposing counsel, referral attorneys, and Judges.
• Perform case reviews to help update client files.
• Attend client meetings, court hearings, and legal proceedings to observe and learn from experienced attorneys.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervising attorneys and management.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited law school program.
• Strong academic record with a demonstrated interest in workers' compensation, Social Security Disability, personal injury, or related areas.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic.
• Prior legal internship or clerkship experience preferred.

Duration & Compensation

This is a full-time summer position typically lasting 9–11 weeks. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
