GENERAL PURPOSE
Perform a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, operating a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city facilities and systems. There may be interest in working in new crafts such as electrical and HVAC.

Works under the immediate supervision of the Divisional Crew Leader.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Compressors, sanders, generators, hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radio, phone, ditch witch, ladders, lawnmowers, weed eaters, paint brushes, post hole diggers, shovels, and rakes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands include frequent use of hands and arms, standing, talking, hearing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and exposed to wet, humid, and vibrating conditions. Occasionally, work occurs at heights or involves exposure to fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards. The noise level is usually loud.
