Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is offering a summer Software Developer Intern role in its Application Development department. You will build and enhance financial applications using modern technologies in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing computer science or related studies with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and prior exposure to full stack development, Agile, and DevOps concepts. This internship may lead to full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited four-year institution and pursuing a related field.
• GPA of at least 3.0 and in good academic standing.
• Field of study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Operations Management, MIS or other technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full stack application design and development.
• Develop software using Angular, .NET Core, C#, JavaScript, REST and SQL.
• Work on an Agile Scrum team.
• Exposure to DevOps processes and technologies such as CI/CD and IaC.
• Collaborate using Git to track source code changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
• Maintain code quality through unit testing.

Who are we you ask? We are a federally chartered corporation and one of 11 Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks) that, with the Office of Finance, comprise the Federal Home Loan Bank System. The FHLBanks are chartered by Congress under the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932 to improve the availability of funds to support home ownership. Each FHLBank is cooperatively owned by member financial institutions in its district and operated as a separate entity with its own management, employees, and board of directors. Our district consists of the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. We are regulated by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, an independent federal agency.

We are currently seeking a summer intern for our Application Development department. As a Software Developer Intern, you will build and enhance advanced financial applications leveraging cutting-edge technology. Successful Individuals should be following an academic track in computer science, Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, Network Engineering or other technical course of study.

Position Responsibilities

Salary Range:

$38,800.00 - $58,100.00
