Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is seeking a summer intern for the Process Optimization department. The program targets students in business, supply chain, quality, technology, engineering or related fields, with internships running May 2027 through August 2027.

Join a collaborative in-office team and gain hands-on experience in data collection, process analysis, and implementing lean improvements that support homeownership goals across Illinois and Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited four-year institution.
• GPA of至少 3.0 and in good academic standing.
• Desired fields: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Internships run May 2027 through August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support process optimization initiatives throughout the Bank using project management, process standardization, change management, and business analytics.
• Create process flows and business architecture documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and present data relevant to process optimization efforts and operational processes.
• Develop recommendations based on process data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to implement solutions.
• Facilitate employee training in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Who are we you ask?

We are a federally chartered corporation and one of 11 Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks) that, with the Office of Finance, comprise the Federal Home Loan Bank System. The FHLBanks were chartered by Congress under the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932 to improve the availability of funds to support home ownership. Each FHLBank is cooperatively owned by member financial institutions in its district and operated as a separate entity with its own management, employees, and board of directors. Our district consists of the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. We are regulated by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, an independent federal agency.

We are currently seeking a summer intern for our Process Optimization department. Successful Individuals should be following an academic track in business, supply chain management, quality, technology, engineering or other related course of study.

Salary Range:

$38,800.00 - $58,100.00
