Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Cranberry Township is seeking a Software Development Intern to join the APX Design Automation & Configuration team for the summer. The role reports to the Software Development Manager and is based on-site at Cranberry.

The position is a paid full-time internship for May–August 2027, offering hands-on experience with the WNEXUS software suite, REST APIs, and web technologies, with mentorship from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering or related degree with a background in software development.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Experience with Java and SQL/Database Design, web-programming (HTML/JavaScript/CSS).
• Experience with REST APIs, MVC Architecture, and Bootstrap.
• Understanding of object-oriented and event-driven paradigms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and development teams to understand and implement the WNEXUS software suite vision.
• Work with Westinghouse's internal application framework to develop engineering applications.
• Support other developers in maintaining and testing existing applications.
• Collaborate with discipline engineers to develop and execute functional requirements.
• Collaborate with discipline engineers to define scope, schedule and cost for new apps or releases.

About the role:

As a Software Development Intern, you will work in the APX Design Automation & Configuration team.
