Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Cranberry Township is seeking a Product Engineer Intern to join the APX Design Automation & Configuration team for the summer of 2027. You will report to the Software Development Manager and gain hands-on experience with the WNEXUS Software Suite while supporting deployment and product management activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning the WECAF framework, and translating user needs into functional enhancements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in an engineering or computer science field.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Ability to troubleshoot functional software issues from a user perspective.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently on assignments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to selection/development/maintenance of the WNEXUS Software Suite tools used within the APX organization.
• Work with team members to intake new functional requirements, understand what is possible with existing architecture and what is new functionality.
• Support the WNEXUS Software Deployments daily tasks by participating in discussions with internal and external customers on new functionality requests.
• Learn the WECAF framework features to understand best use of toolset and support efficient data connections across applications.
• Support the team in product backlog maintenance of the core WNEXUS Suite Applications.
• Help drive standardization into the WNEXUS product management process, through assisting with training of individuals and development of standard training material.
• Plan, schedule, and execute assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.

About the role:

As a Product Engineer Intern, you will work in the APX Design Automation & Configuration team.

You will report to the Software Development Manager and be located at our Cranberry location. This is a paid full-time position for the summer, May - August 2027.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
