Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Software Developer Intern for a paid, full-time summer hybrid role at the Warrendale, PA facility (May–August 2027). You will work with the I&C software team to gather requirements, implement code changes, test, and document tool features under supervision.

You should be pursuing a bachelor’s in CS/SE, have completed sophomore year, and have experience with C#, Java, Python, SQL, and Azure DevOps/Git. Competitive hourly pay is offered.

About the role:

As a Software Developer Intern, you will work with a team of software developers supporting engineering applications in the Westinghouse Instrumentation & Controls organization. As part of this team, you will collaborate with senior developers in making improvements to enhance the usability of I&C engineering tools. This effort will include gathering requirements, implementing code changes, testing, and documenting tool features.

You will report to the Supervisor GIC Tools & Applications and be located at our Warrendale, PA facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Westinghouse's nuclear safety culture and follow all company policies
• Support the team in understanding customer needs and developing technical solutions across the full software lifecycle
• Develop positive working relationships with team members, internal partners, and collaborating organizations

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering
• Completed Sophomore year of college
• C#/Java/Python/SQL, Azure DevOps/Git experience

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
