Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is offering a paid summer Project Engineering internship at our Cranberry facility. The role reports to the Digital & AI Product Strategy Manager and focuses on engineering solutions for AP300 and AP1000 projects with AI enablement.

The position runs May–August 2027, onsite, with compensation based on experience. Candidates pursuing engineering degrees and having completed sophomore year are encouraged to apply for a hands-on learning experience in a nuclear

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for AP300 and AP1000 projects.
• Assist digitization projects including AI enablement across projects.
• Compile technical design information and prepare reports for the team.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering groups to ensure delivery of commitments.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to discussions on technical challenges.
• Prepare engineering deliverables across several disciplines.
• Draft presentations and documentation for construction partners and customers.

About the role:

As a Project Engineering intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the nuclear power industry and contribute to the development of the latest technology.

You will report to the Digital & AI Product Strategy Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for the AP300 and AP1000 projects
• Support digitization projects for AP300 and AP1000 projects, including AI enablement
• Support the project engineering team in compiling technical design information and preparing reports
• Work with multiple engineering groups to ensure delivery of engineering commitments
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on technical challenges and solutions
• Help prepare engineering deliverables across several technical disciplines
• Help prepare presentations and documentation for construction partners and customers

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, nuclear, chemical, industrial, electrical, or civil engineering
• Completed Sophomore year of college
• Interest in project engineering across broad technical disciplines
• Construction experience/interest
