Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Component Design Engineering Intern for a paid, full-time hybrid summer position (May–August 2027) at the Cranberry, PA facility. You will gain hands-on mechanical engineering experience within a dynamic team and contribute to nuclear power plant projects.

Reporting to the Component Design & Management Programs Manager, you will work on design, analysis, and collaboration with customers and vendors to gather information and meet project needs.

Qualificações

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Previous internship or project experience in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency in software tools.

Responsabilidades

• Provide engineering design and analysis for nuclear power plants, products, including fuel manufacturing, spent-fuel management, service and maintenance, instrumentation and control, and training.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors and other departments to obtain information for work assignments.
• Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements.
• Evaluate standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for development of engineering design documents including calculations and specifications.

About the role:

As a Component Design Engineering Intern, you will work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of mechanical engineering. You will be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the development of technical products and systems. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the industry and help you develop your engineering skills.

You will report to the Component Design & Management Programs Manager and be located at our Cranberry, PA facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• - You will provide engineering design and analysis for nuclear power plants, products, including fuel manufacturing, spent-fuel management, service and maintenance, instrumentation and control, and training
• - Work with customers, vendors and other departments to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments
• - Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
