Job summary

Charter Communications offers a paid, 11-week Spectrum internship in Colorado for computer science students. The program runs May 26 through August 6, 2027, with hands-on projects in observability, dashboards, and data analysis.

You'll work on two teams, gain mentorship, attend professional development sessions, and deliver a capstone project with a final presentation to leadership. A 3.0 GPA and U.S. work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program.
• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain observability dashboards in Splunk, Datadog and Grafana with production WiFi device telemetry data.
• Learn and write SPL queries to analyze device health metrics, reboot patterns, and firmware release performance.
• Create data visualizations that translate complex device telemetry into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate query writing, dashboard building, and data analysis workflows.
• Assist with monitoring and alerting configuration in Datadog for service health tracking.
• Participate in firmware release observability and build dashboards for rollout performance.
• Contribute to automation using Python scripting for data extraction and report generation.
• Explore AI/LLM integrations for observability workflows and participate in team standups.
• Deliver a 10-week capstone project with final presentation to leadership.
