Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Hopkins, SC is seeking a Chemical Engineering intern for the summer 2027 program. You will join a dynamic team, contribute to chemical process design and equipment development, and support documentation for procurement and manufacturing.

About the role:

As a Chemical Engineering intern, you will be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the development of technical products and systems.

You will report to the LEU+ Process Engineering Manager and be located at our Hopkins, SC facility. This is a paid full-time position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support creation of chemical process design documentation such as process and instrumentation diagrams
• Support hands‑on design and development of chemical manufacturing equipment
• Support creation of documentation for procurement and manufacturing
• Support resolution of technical issues including first‑of‑a‑kind implementation
• Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
• Completed Sophomore year of college

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
