Job summary

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America in New York invites you to join its 2027 Summer Internship in Corporate Finance & Risk – Internal Audit. This paid 10-week program provides hands-on exposure to audit projects and real-world financial controls in a global insurer.

As a current junior pursuing a finance or economics degree, you will support audit work, learn from experienced professionals, and potentially position for Guardian's Finance Leadership Development Program after

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in finance or related field.
• Interest in exploring multiple areas of Finance and Risk and willingness to learn about different functions across the organization.
• Intellectual curiosity to learn, and the ability to analyze information and draw meaningful insights.
• Strong attention to details and ability to connect risk, controls and business processes.

Responsibilities

• Support audit project work, collaborate with experienced professionals and gain exposure to real world business challenges.
• Assist in boarder department wide initiatives gaining experience in process improvement / transformation.
• Assist in performing testing to support the external audit controls over financial statement testing and/or model audit rule testing.
• Have the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional career.
• Learn about Guardian’s purpose, values, how we work, and our suite of product and service offerings.
• Build a network of colleagues and have a sense of community with other interns and other parts of the business.
• Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts, and other information.
