Job summary

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is offering a 10-week paid Summer Internship in Corporate Finance & Risk, Expense Management FP&A in New York, NY. The program provides hands-on experience through daily business interactions, insightful projects, and mentoring from senior leaders.

Interns will gain exposure to multiple finance areas, with opportunities to be considered for Guardian's Finance Leadership Development Program upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of finance and accounting principles
• Interest in exploring multiple Finance and Risk areas
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparations of various reports, work papers, provisions, and reconciliations
• Assist in tracking and reporting expenses, expense analysis, financial statement analytics, and journal entries
• Assist in process improvement, automation, and ad hoc requests as needed
• Learn from supportive leaders, mentors, and team members across the organization
• Learn Guardian’s purpose, values, and product/service offerings
• Build a network with other interns and colleagues across the business
• Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts, and information
