Tilcon New York Inc. offers an internship position in its aggregate or asphalt operations, providing hands-on training under the supervision of a Plant Manager or supervisor.

The program focuses on day-to-day duties related to the intern's course of study or technical skills. Interns will learn safety protocols, department responsibilities, and quality control processes while completing a project to present at internship end.

Qualifications

• Student at a college, university, or technical school.
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image as an Intern.
• Ability to follow direction and complete simple tasks.
• Ability to be tactful with average communication skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with questions or problems, seeking assistance when needed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the first core value; comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in learning day-to-day tasks of the Aggregate or Asphalt Department.
• Study the relationship of the department to the Company.
• Understand duties of each team member in the department.
• Learn department reporting and regulatory responsibilities.
• Observe experienced employees to learn methods and standards.
• May be assigned projects by department leadership.
• Work with Quality Control to understand production quality impact.
• Collaborate on projects to present at internship end.
• Wears PPE as needed.
