Job summary

Evergy is seeking an Intern for the Control Systems Engineering and Cybersecurity stream in Kansas City, MO. You will be involved in planning, maintenance, operation, and development of Evergy’s electricity production assets, with projects spanning Instrumentation/Controls, thermal performance, and new generation technologies including renewables.

The summer internship offers real responsibilities, hands-on assignments, and opportunities to interact with business units.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university or technical program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Cyber Security.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel.
• Experience in scripting, data interpretation and research preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, maintenance, operation and development of Evergy’s assets as part of the OT Infrastructure team.
• Contribute to Instrumentation/Controls, Thermal Performance and evaluating new generation technologies including renewables.
• Work on projects such as Alarm Management System, Control System Upgrades, Cyber Security Projects and AI Research.
