Evergy in Weston, MO is seeking an Intern in Generation Engineering for Summer 2027. Reporting to the engineering manager at the Iatan Generating Station, you will support operations and maintenance teams while learning project development, implementation, and commissioning. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.

Qualificações

• ABET accredited university program of Mechanical Engineering enrolled.
• Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong organizational and proofreading skills.
• Strong investigative, problem solving and analytical skills with ability to extract key themes and determine root causes.
• Ability to understand business process workflow diagrams or procedural documentation.
• Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and databases preferred.
• Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently in a high stress environment.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities by analyzing and understanding data and processes.
• Identify process discrepancies, determine root cause, and develop solutions.
• Verify Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams by field verification
• Iteratively collaborate across colleagues and customers during product development and QA to make sure it fits design and solves business problems.
• Periodically inspect boilers and/or other equipment during outages and develop repair plans based on applicable codes and failure mechanisms
