Job summary

Evergy is offering a Corporate Communications internship for Summer 2027, located in Topeka or Kansas City. Interns will participate in message and campaign development for internal and external audiences, with emphasis on internal communications and potential multimedia work.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexible hours. The program includes intern events such as tours, Lunch & Learn sessions, and volunteer activities to support a well-rounded experience.

Qualifications

• Upper-class undergraduate student in good standing with the School of Business, Journalism or Communications preferred.
• Public relations or strategic communications emphasis is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule – some evening and weekend work required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and execution of communication campaigns and content for internal and external audiences.
• Support multimedia communications, including video production, editing, and distribution, and perform routine administrative functions.
