Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst Intern in Fort Collins, CO. You will join our credit analyst team, gaining hands-on experience with credit analysis and the loan lifecycle.

You will assist in preparing loan packets, spread and analyze financial information, monitor covenants, and participate in department projects while collaborating with Operations, Relationship Management, and Loan Documentation teams to learn risk management and client solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform fundamental credit analysis tasks.

Through this work, the intern will develop core skills and working knowledge of FNBO Credit group, business practices and operations through educational sessions, straightforward projects, and other duties requested by the manager.About This Role:ResponsibilitiesPerform fundamental credit analysis tasksParticipate in corporate internship program activities such as educational workshops, social events, and community outreach, and bank-wide intern projectEngage with personnel in other bank departments including Operations, Relationship Management, and Loan Documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the loan lifecycle and build cross-functional relationshipsDuties may includeAssisting in the preparation of loan presentation packets (credit memos) for new credit requests, loan renewals and annual reviewsSpread and analyze financial information for borrowers, related entities, and guarantors.Aid in ongoing monitoring of loan covenants to ensure that borrowers remain in compliance with all covenants as specified in the loan agreement.Verify accuracy of financial information in credit systemsCompletion of a department specific projectDevelopment OpportunitiesGain knowledge of financial analysis of different financial statements, industries and loan typesExposure to bank credit systems and financial spreading toolsWork collaboratively with experienced credit and banking professionalsParticipate in department meetings and training sessionsThe Ideal Candidate for This Role:Program RequirementsMust be a current university student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fieldUndergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higherDemonstrate analytical and critical thinking skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeCandidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.Work Environment:It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work onsite at the posted location.
